"The only thing I can read for absolute certain is that he died in 1853 aged 61 Y 10 M and 19D. You can see the bottom of the 1 on the bottom of the broken stone and the very tip of the 8 and most of the 5 and 3 on the top of the stone, but it is very hard to see. The month and day are split across the break where it was incorrectly cemented into the ground. You can see a line that dips below suggesting either the month as Apr, July, Aug, or Sep, but the dip is definitely not a G and doesn't have four letters which means it is either Apr or Sep. I found a possible connection in the Rootsweb WorldConnect database that might be Joshua Davis. They had his death date as 2 Sep 1853 and stated that he died in Ohio while visiting relatives. I believe it is the same person."
